Music and Choir Director

Nancy Grab

Worship through Music at Clinton Heights UCC

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord” from the Psalms tells us that music completes the worship experience, adding the dimension of sound and words into song.  The choir at Clinton Heights UCC strives to ensure that this is so.  A variety of songs are sung from traditional and contemporary, concentrating on special occasions in the church year and special Sundays that have meaning for our church family.  Our choir volunteers give of their time and talents by attending a one-hour rehearsal each Wednesday at 7PM and warm-up rehearsal at 9:15 am, followed by our church service at 10:30 AM each Sunday.  The common bond among the members of the choir is the knowledge that they, as a group, enhance and make more meaningful the Sunday worship service.  What a gift to give!

Our director is Nancy Grab, organist and choir director.  For over forty years Nancy has been directing choirs and playing the organ.  She was trained at Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY.  In addition to her church work, she has been active in musical theater, singing groups, ensembles and dance.  She has been known to mix these additional activities to enhance our music worship experience.

We welcome singers.  “He who sings, prays twice”!  If you are interested in giving of your time and talent, call Nancy at 433-1927 or e-mail her at ngrab1@nycap.rr.com
