COMMITTEES

Christian Education – The Christian Education Committee is responsible for the teaching and guidance of United Church of Christ principles and doctrine to the children and adults. The Sunday School program focuses on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and the Old Testament bible stories. The Adult bible study will begin in September through May each year.

Property – The Property Committee is in charge of the care of maintaining the church properties making needed repairs or improvements, with the intent of keeping our Church a good steward in the community.

Floral – The Floral Committee provides flower arrangements in the sanctuary and fellowship hall for weekly services and special occasions.

Finance – The Finance Committee is responsible for the financial solvency and oversight of our Church’s financial affairs.

Positive Growth - The Positive Growth Committee meets to discuss issues that any congregation member can bring to the group that need resolution and direction. This group will bring their concerns to the Council

Music – The Music Committee selects music to be sung by the choir and played by the organist to add spiritual enhancement to our church services.

God Is Still Speaking – The God is Still Speaking Committee organizes events throughout the year that invites the members of the church and the community to get together in fellowship.

Fellowship - The Fellowship Committee provides refreshments after each Sunday service and at special occasions, helping to promote a close relationship between church members and friends.

Camp Medusa - The Camp Medusa Committee works with the Hudson Mohawk Association to keep the summer camp a viable, worthwhile Christian camping experience for the youth of our Church.

Pastoral Relations - The Pastoral Relations Committee works to keep an open relationship between the church members and the Pastor in expressing the mission, hopes and dreams of our Church and in resolving conflicts between members and the Pastor.

Nominating – The Nominating Committee presents a slate of Church Council members and members of the Board of Deacons at the election of officers meeting in October. This committee shall also recommend nominees to fill vacancies which may occur during the year.

Stewardship – The Stewardship Committee is comprised of the Council and Board of Deacons members. This committee is responsible for the planning and conducing of the annual Stewardship campaign. They also promote mission interests of our Church.

Congregational Vitality Group - The purpose of the Congregational Vitality Group is to enhance the sanctuary through the use of the five senses. The group will be responsible for coming up with creative ideas on a seasonal or special occasion basis to enhance the sanctuary. The group will be responsible for conceptual planning, acquiring/creating the necessary materials and carrying out the plan. The group is open to the entire congregation.
