Youth Group
Our youth group is very active in serving our community as well as global missions. This past year projects included:
- The making of lap quilts for the Evergreen Common Nursing Home patients. As part of this project, they also purchased Christmas presents for patients without families.
- Made turkey soup for the homeless residents at the Albany City Mission.
- Monthly food donations to CoNSERNS-U, a local food pantry.
- Held a pet food drive, which included collecting food and pet supplies for the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society.
- Collected and assembled hygiene kits for the Church World Service Organization for donations to Japan, Haiti and to those who have been devastated by earthquakes, floods, and other disasters.
- Participated in a Christmas concert and Spring concert for the patients of the White House Adult Home in Rensselaer, NY. Also, participated in a game day for them, providing companionship to the patients.
- The making of prayer bracelets for the Deacons for distribution to the sick and shut-ins.

We ask each Youth member to bring a non-perishable food item to each meeting that will be donated to the CoNSERNS-U Food Pantry. Future Plans: November are to make lap blankets that will be given to the Evergreen Nursing Home. In December we will be buying and wrapping Christmas gifts for the patients at Evergreen Nursing Home who do not have family that visit them.
